Osceola also offers beautiful parks: East Lake Park – east on Highway 34 that offers wonderful shelters for picnics, fishing, playground equipment, and the lookout tower. East Lake is also home to a pair of trumpeter swans (and offspring) that are a very popular attraction. We also have Q-Pond Park that has limited playground and shelters as well as walking trails. This park is located west of town on Clay Street.

Annual Community Service Award Nominations Being Accepted!

Osceola Chamber Main Street and Osceola Rotary are accepting nominations for local individuals that have done outstanding community and volunteer service.

This prestigious award was initiated in 1950 to recognize any individual within the community who has given services and above and beyond that of his/her paid employment.  

Only written nominations will be accepted and you can send nominations to Osceola Chamber Main Street at P.O. Box 425, Osceola, IA 50213.  Nominations MUST be signed and include the specific services provided by the nominee.  Nominations must be received by Friday, December 26th, 2014.

The award will be presented at the Osceola Chamber Main Street annual dinner on Monday, January 19th, 2014.  Selection of the award winner will be determined by a committee of three OCMS members, three Rotary members, and three past winners.
