Mark Your Calendars - Holiday Brilliance and Shop Small Saturday is Nov 28!

Last Updated 12/16/2021

Last holiday season, OCMS focused on rebuilding Holiday Brilliance by adding more of everything: Activities, lights on the courtyard and lighted parade entries.  Although a rainstorm threatened, parade participants persevered and provided a light-filled grand finale.

With all the challenges of 2020, including social distancing and mask-wearing in-mind, the plans for Holliday Brilliance, November 28th, are bigger and will grow as invited participants provide information. Any organization who would like to participate in the event please reach out to OCMS.

OCMS invites all businesses and households to participate in the Merry and Bright Spectacular.” This will kick off November 28th after the lighted parade and will run through December 27th. Participants must complete an entry form to be added to the map of displays for the community to view and judge. Community members are invited to submit their winners in the categories of business/organizations and residential entries. The form must be received by November 20th and winners will receive $50 Warrior Dollars.  There is no theme - decorate your business and home - make the town MERRY & BRIGHT!

Holiday Brilliance is set for for Shop Small Saturday on November 28th. The day will begin at 10 a.m. when businesses and shoppers celebrate “Shop Small Saturday.”

Although children will not have close contact with Santa, he will be ‘in the house’ for children to see and for parents to snap photos of him watching over the festivities. He will read a special story and officially kick-off the season by flipping the switch to holiday lights. Santa’s North Pole mailbox will be ready to hold all those Christmas letters, which will be answered by his team of helpers.

The former Robinson Building will convert from Smithsonian Exhibition to Santa’s Workshop, with lots of space for kids’ craft stations; Osceola Fire Department hosts a soup supper and back by popular demand, Dwayne Stewart and his team of mules returns to offer festive wagon rides around the square from 4-7pm.

The grand finale Lighted Parade begins at 5:30 when entrants encircle the downtown square with their lighted holiday creations. OCMS encourages participation to make it a Merry and Bright celebration- please call or email to reserve a spot in the parade.
