CDBG-CV Facade Project Kicks Off in Downtown Osceola

Last Updated 2/26/2024

If you have drove downtown lately in Osceola you’ve noticed construction professionals working on several buildings.  This is the start of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Covid Façade project where multiple buildings downtown will receive a façade restoration.

The City of Osceola was awarded a $500,000 grant from IEDA for this project where the focus is to eliminate “slum and blight” in communities by restoring building facades while respecting their historic character.

This project was made possible through partnerships between building owners, the City of Osceola, Osceola Chamber Main Street, Southern Iowa Council of Governments (SICOG) and the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA).

Follow along with us as progress is made through the spring and summer.
