Last Updated 12/9/2024

Saturday, December 7, Downtown Osceola transformed into a Christmas wonderland as the annual Christmas in the Park event drew a packed crowd. With perfect weather and festive cheer, families and friends gathered to celebrate the holiday season in style.

The day was filled with magical moments, thanks to the efforts of many who made it a truly special experience. The dazzling lights, creative floats, and cherished holiday traditions came together to create a memorable event for all ages.

One of the standout highlights was the first-ever Cookie Stroll, where participants filled their stockings with ingredients to bake Christmas sugar cookies at home. This new addition to the event was a sweet success, bringing smiles to both kids and adults.

Santa Claus made his appearance, spreading Christmas magic and delighting young attendees with his jolly spirit. Families also enjoyed a festive mule team wagon ride around the square, offering a charming way to take in the sights.

Over at the fire station, the Law Enforcement Toy Giveaway and cookie decorating, sponsored by the Fire Department, brought joy and creativity to the event.

The magical evening culminated in a stunning lighted parade, a true spectacle of holiday lights and cheer. Children penned letters to Santa, adding a personal touch to their holiday wishes.

From start to finish, Christmas in the Park was a celebration of community and tradition. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who worked tirelessly to make this event so magical. Osceola truly captured the spirit of the season, leaving attendees with cherished memories to carry into the new year.

Special thanks go to the event sponsors—Homestead Assisted Living, Kading Properties, Clarke Electric Cooperative, Fareway, Clarke County Publishing and the Clarke County Hospital—for their generous support in making the day so magical. Their contributions, along with the dedication of countless volunteers, brought Osceola’s holiday spirit to life in a truly unforgettable way.
