Annual Dinner: "All Roads Lead to Osceola"

On Tuesday, January 25, OCMS and CCDC celebrated their 2021 Annual Dinner “All Roads Lead to Osceola.”  With only 100 in person tickets available Revelton Distilling Company was full of supporters from each organization their to celebrate accomplishments and hear the reveal of who would be awarded the 2021 Community Service Member.

As everyone arrived, they were greeted with party favors from American State Bank the premier sponsor of the evening and enjoyed cocktails from Revelton’s exquisite menu.  The evening dinner was kicked off by Osceola Chamber Main Street’s 2021 President Casey Spoelstra with words of gratitude for the OCMS employees and volunteers.  Culinary Nomad’s menu featured a mixed green salad, chicken piccata, braised boneless beef short ribs, garlic and herb smashed potatoes, buttered green beans, and was topped off with delectable cannolis and brownies for dessert.

Chuck Devos the emcee for the evening kicked off the program and introduced Sue Wilder, Clarke County Development Corporation’s President. She presented the 2021 CCDC Director’s Award to Lakeside Hotel Casino for their business retention and expansion efforts in 2021 and their important role in the community as both an employer and community partner.

Ashleigh Eckels, the executive Director of OCMS took the podium where she recognized board members, committee members and volunteers of the organization. She gave awards to the 2021 President, Casey Spoelstra, and Jan Rychnovsky who recently retired from the Event Coordinator position.

Next up was Chuck Devos to present the award everyone was waiting for, the 2021 Community Service Award Winner. He took to the podium reading excerpts from the nominee letter.



This individual came to Osceola as a shy young girl and transformed into the vivacious, energetic lady to become one of Osceola’s greatest assets for her generosity and volunteerism in our community.”

The recipient of this prestigious award went to Vickie Binning. She was greeted with a standing ovation as she came to the podium so accept her award.
