The 2026 Main Street Iowa Development Awards recognized outstanding downtown revitalization efforts from communities across the state. Eighteen projects received development awards, while 45 individuals were honored with leadership awards for their service and commitment to Main Street initiatives.
“Over the past 40 years, Main Street Iowa has grown into one of the strongest and most respected statewide Main Street programs in the country,” said Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority and Iowa Finance Authority. “Local leaders, volunteers and business owners continue to invest in their downtowns and create places where people want to live, work and gather.”
Main Street Iowa State Coordinator Carol Lilly noted that the 40th anniversary celebration provided an opportunity to reflect on the program’s strong foundation while recognizing the ongoing efforts that continue to strengthen Iowa’s downtown districts.
“These awards are a testament to the hard work, vision and collaboration happening in communities across Iowa,” said Lilly. “They highlight the continued momentum of the Main Street movement and the shared commitment to building vibrant, resilient downtowns for future generations.”
The recognition of both Kerr Dental and Davide Opie showcases the dedication of Osceola’s business leaders, volunteers and community partners who continue to invest in the community’s future and contribute to the ongoing success of downtown Osceola.
