Spring Has Sprung; Bring New Life Into Your Building

Osceola Chamber Main Street offers multiple grants to bring new life into your business.  Needing an exterior repair? Check out our Building Improvement Grant a 1:1 matching grant up to $15,000.  Looking to replace your rugged sign or awning? Our Sign and Awning Grant is for you, it is available to cover half the cost of a new sign or awning.  Want to spice up you’re building with art, check out our newest Mural Program.  View the applications online here, you must be an OCMS member to receive these benefits.

Coffee Connections Hosted at First National Bank

March 16 First National Bank on Jeffreys Drive hosted a Coffee Connection.  Attendees were greeted with coffee, donuts, and First National Bank swag.  First National Bank has a long history of volunteerism.  Since the inception of the Annual Community Service Award. Eight employees and board members have been recognized as an Osceola Community Service Award winner.  Let’s do the math: 8 winners/74 years = nearly 11%.  That’s a lot of time spent working to make the community better for all citizens. 

Reminder Coffee Connections are free and open to the public.  All are invited to attend and connect with other members of the community. Mark your calendars for Aprils Coffee Connection at salonRED’s Garden Center, April 20 from 8:30-9:30am.

March Shining Star

Strive to Thrive

Join us at the OCMS office Tuesday, April 25 at 5pm for our first workshop of our new series “Strive to Thrive.”  Lindsey Newland, a Grow with Google Digital Coach, will lead this workshop with a focus on how you can increase your sales with Google Tools.  You will learn how to list products on a Google Business Profile, and how to utilize the Google Merchant Center, a no cost tool that allows both e-commerce and brick-and-mortar businesses to create free Product Listings on Google.  Registration is required, you can call the office, 641-342-4200 or register online at bit.ly/42At99r.

Event Outlook

Join us downtown Saturday, April 8 for our annual Bunny Brunch and Easter Egg Hunt.  The Fire Department will be hosting the Bunny Brunch from 8:30-9:30am.  At 9:30am LifePoint Church will be leading the Story of Easter on the bandstand, the egg hunt will follow for children under 3 and walking to 4th grade.  This year one lucky person in each age group will win a bike donated by our Financial Institutions: American State Bank, Community 1st Credit Union, First Interstate Bank and First National Bank.  A special thanks to or premiere sponsor of this years Easter Egg Hunt: Air Solutions.  While your downtown do not forget to shop the square with businesses opening at 10am and check out Your Sweet Pickins Special Easter Edition Pop-Up Bakery from 9am-12pm, your’re sure to find some eggcellent treats!

Only 92 days until the Rockin’ in the USA Forth of July Celebration kicks off.  This year’s festivities will begin with opening ceremonies on June 30th, featuring the little miss and mister competition, bandstand entertainment from the Imperial Mudpuppies and the firework show.  The schedule for the other 4 days are still being finalized but the parade will happen on July 4 at 10am.
